How to make it
Four steps, about a minute of your time. These are real screens from the run above.
- 01
Describe your deck
Write the deck theme, list the cards you want under Which cards (The Moon, The Star, The Lovers) or leave it empty for iconic ones, pick a style (Art nouveau, Celestial, Gothic, Watercolor, Anime, Dark fantasy or Minimal line art) and set how many cards, up to six.

- 02
Watch the cards get drawn
The AI writer picks each card, its traditional numeral and its upright meaning, and plans art that reimagines the card's symbolism in your theme. Seedream 5 paints each one, then Idyllic frames it in black and gold and sets the name and numeral in Cinzel. Preview the plan free.
- 03
Lay out the spread
The framed cards sit side by side with the art without type, each captioned with its upright meaning, so you can check that the cards feel like one deck.
- 04
Edit and download
Open a card in Canvas to change the name, numeral, font or frame color, or select part of the art and describe a change. Download a PNG at 825×1425 px, or the Large export at 1650×2850 px for print.
Why it beats
a template
Real symbolism, your theme
Each card keeps its traditional meaning and symbols. The Tower keeps its lightning and Strength keeps its lion, reimagined in your theme instead of a generic fantasy picture.
Names and numerals you can trust
Card names and roman numerals are set as real text, not painted into the art, so The High Priestess is spelled right and stays II. Cards you name appear exactly as you typed them.
A deck that matches
Every card shares the same black and gold frame and the same Cinzel lettering. Keep the theme and style across runs and the new cards sit with the old ones.
Print size from the start
Cards are designed at 2.75×4.75 in at 300 ppi, the standard tarot size. The Large export doubles that to 600 ppi.
Edit every layer
144 fonts, text effects, shapes and AI edits: change a detail in the art, erase a stray object, or swap the gold frame for silver.
Yours to sell
Paid plans include a commercial license, so a finished deck can go to a card printer, a print-on-demand shop or your own store.
What makes a tarot deck good to read with
- Keep each card's core symbols. Readers know The Tower by its tower and lightning, whatever the theme.
- Use one style for the whole deck so the cards read as a set on the table.
- One central figure per card. Busy art is hard to read across a spread.
- Start with the 22 Major Arcana, then add the 56 Minor Arcana suit by suit.
- Keep the name and numeral away from the trim edge so nothing is cut.
- Print one test card before ordering a full deck to check color and trim.
Tarot card size and print specs
| Idyllic card | 825×1425 px | 2.75×4.75 in at 300 ppi, PNG |
|---|---|---|
| Large export | 1650×2850 px | 600 ppi at tarot size |
| Standard tarot card | 2.75×4.75 in (about 70×120 mm) | The usual size for a 78-card deck |
| Print file with bleed | 3×5 in | 0.125 in on each side, 900×1500 px at 300 ppi |
| Safe zone | 0.125 in inside the trim | Keep the name and numeral inside it |
Cards are designed at trim size with a black edge. Most card printers ask for 0.125 in of bleed, so center the card in your printer's 3×5 in template and fill the extra edge with black. Check your printer's own template before you order.

Questions
How can I create my own tarot cards?
Describe the theme of your deck, name the cards you want or let the flow pick iconic ones, choose a style and run it. Each card comes framed, with its name and numeral set in type. Run it again with the same theme and style to grow the deck.
Is the tarot card maker free?
You can preview the whole flow free: real AI writing with sample images, so you can check the plan. Running it for real is on Plus ($10.50 a month, billed yearly) and uses 27 credits for three cards. The free plan also includes 3 free images a day in the image studio.
What size is a tarot card?
The standard tarot card is 2.75×4.75 in, about 70×120 mm. Idyllic designs at exactly that size, 825×1425 px at 300 ppi, and the Large export is 1650×2850 px. Printers usually ask for 0.125 in of bleed, which makes the print file 3×5 in.
Can I make a full 78-card deck?
Yes, a few cards at a time. A run makes up to six cards, and the flow is built around the 22 Major Arcana. Name Minor Arcana cards such as the Three of Cups in the brief to add them, then check the numeral at the top of each card in Canvas. Keep the theme and style the same across runs so the deck matches.
Can I blend different styles in my tarot card designs?
Pick one style and describe the blend in the theme, for example art nouveau figures in celestial colors. For a deck that matches, keep the same style on every run; to experiment, run the same cards in two styles and compare.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes. A theme is all you need. The AI writer knows each card's traditional symbols and number, plans the art and sets the type; you choose the cards you like and adjust them in Canvas.
Can I print and sell my tarot deck?
Yes. Paid plans include a commercial license. Upload the PNGs to a card printer that offers the tarot size, add the bleed it asks for, and order a proof deck first. The flow makes card fronts; design a card back in Canvas at the Tarot card size.
