Ready-made flow · Square cover art that reads at thumbnail size
AI Podcast Cover Generator
Idyllic's AI podcast cover generator turns your show name and a line about the show into square cover art. Each variation is a different concept: one bold image, the show name in a display font and an optional host line, laid out to stay readable at the tiny sizes Apple Podcasts and Spotify use. Every word and layer stays editable in Canvas.

How to make it
Four steps, about a minute of your time. These are real screens from the run above.
- 01
Name the show
Enter the show name, say what the show is about, add a host line if you want one (like “with Dana Holt”) and choose how many variations to make.

- 02
Let the flow design the cover
The AI writer plans a different concept for each variation and picks a display font. FLUX 3 makes one bold, iconic image per concept, then Idyllic sets the show name and host line on it, sized to read in a grid of tiny squares. Preview the whole flow free first.
- 03
Compare the concepts
Every cover appears side by side, next to the artwork without text. Judge them small: the one you can still read at thumbnail size is the one to pick.
- 04
Edit and export at 3000×3000
Open a cover in Canvas and change any word, font, colour or effect. Then choose Export, Cover art: a 3000×3000 PNG, the size Apple Podcasts and Spotify ask for.
Why it beats
a template
Built for the grid
Podcast apps show covers as small squares. One strong subject, high contrast and a big title in a heavy font keep yours legible next to everything else.
Your show name, spelled right
The title is set as real type exactly as you enter it, not lettering drawn by the image model, so it never comes out garbled.
Different concepts, not small variations
Each variation is a separate idea for the show, so you are choosing a direction, not a shade of the same picture.
A cover that sounds like the show
Describe the show and the art follows: moody for true crime, warm for conversation, bright for comedy. Fonts are picked to match.
Every layer editable
Change the show name or host line, try any of 144 fonts, add an outline, shadow or gradient, or select part of the image and change it.
Yours to publish
Paid plans include a commercial license, so the cover can go on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, your website and your merch.
What makes good podcast cover art
- Design for the small size. Check it shrunk down to the size of a fingernail.
- Make the show name the biggest text. Skip taglines and episode numbers.
- Use one strong image rather than a collage.
- Use no more than two fonts.
- Pick colours that stand out from the other covers in your category.
- Keep it square and solid. Apple doesn't accept transparency in show covers.
Podcast cover art size and specs
| Apple Podcasts | 3000×3000 px | Accepts 1400×1400 to 3000×3000 via RSS |
|---|---|---|
| Spotify | 1400×1400 to 3000×3000 px | 1:1, Spotify for Creators guidance |
| Format | PNG or JPG | Square, no transparency |
| Idyllic export | 3000×3000 px PNG | Cover art size in the Export menu |
Export at Cover art size and the file meets Apple's and Spotify's specs as it is. The type is drawn fresh at full size; for the sharpest artwork, upscale the picture layer 2× in Canvas before you export.

Questions
What size should a podcast cover be?
3000×3000 pixels is the safe target. Apple Podcasts accepts 1400×1400 to 3000×3000 (square JPG or PNG, no transparency), and Spotify recommends the same range. Idyllic exports covers at 3000×3000 directly: choose Cover art in the Export menu.
Is the AI podcast cover generator free?
You can preview the whole flow free: the AI writer plans your real concepts, shown with sample images. Making the final covers is on Plus and up (from $10.50/mo, billed yearly) and costs 36 credits for three. The free plan also includes 3 free images a day in the image studio.
What should a podcast cover include?
The show name, one strong image and, if you like, the host's name. Leave out episode numbers, long taglines and small text that disappears at thumbnail size.
What makes a good podcast cover?
It reads at a glance when it is tiny: a single bold subject, strong contrast, a big title in a heavy font and no more than two fonts.
Will the AI spell my show name correctly?
Yes. The show name is set as real type exactly as you enter it, not drawn by the image model, and you can edit it in Canvas.
Can I use the cover on Apple Podcasts and Spotify?
Yes. Export at Cover art size (3000×3000), which clears Apple's 1400×1400 minimum. Paid plans include a commercial license, so you can publish it anywhere your show appears.
Can I make my cover in another language?
Yes. Prompts work in any language, and the show name is set exactly as you type it.
