Ready-made flow · "Greetings from" postcards for any place you love
AI Postcard Maker
Idyllic's AI postcard maker turns the name of any place into classic “Greetings from” postcards. An AI writer plans a different view for each card, from coastline to skyline to landmark; Seedream 5 paints the scene; and Idyllic sets the place name huge in bold 3D letters, with “Greetings from” in script above it and your line below. Each one is 6×4 in, ready to print, mail or share.

How to make it
Four steps, about a minute of your time. These are real screens from the run above.
- 01
Name the place
Type it in Where is it from? (Big Sur, California), add an optional line under it (Wish you were here · Summer 2027), then pick a look: Vintage travel, Retro 70s, Watercolor, Photo, Pop art or Modern minimal.

It paints the view
The AI writer plans a different view of the place for each postcard and pulls out the main name. Seedream 5 paints a wide scene with open sky and a clear band across the middle, then Idyllic sets “Greetings from”, the name in huge 3D letters and your line. Preview the flow free first.
- 03
Compare the views
The three postcards sit side by side, with each scene on its own too, so you can pick one view or print all three as a set.
- 04
Edit and download
Open one in Canvas, change the depth or color of the 3D letters, try Bowlby One, Shrikhand or Ultra, then download an 1800×1200 PNG, or the 3600×2400 Large export.
Why it beats
a template
The classic large-letter look
A nod to the “Greetings from” postcards popular from the 1930s to the 1950s: the place name in big, dimensional block letters over a sunny view.
A different view on every card
The coastline, the skyline, the landmark, the landscape. Each variation shows the place from another angle, painted in the look you pick.
Real type, real 3D
The name is set in display faces like Anton, Bowlby One, Shrikhand and Alfa Slab One with a 3D effect you can tune in Canvas: depth, angle and color, plus 144 fonts.
Your line under it
Wish you were here, a trip date, a reunion, a wedding weekend. Leave it blank and the rest of the place name goes there instead, like California under Big Sur.
Six looks
Vintage travel, Retro 70s, Watercolor, Photo, Pop art and Modern minimal, from linen-era nostalgia to clean and current.
Print it, mail it, sell it
1800×1200 px is a 6×4 card at 300 ppi, within the USPS limits for the postcard price. Paid plans include a commercial license for your shop or rental.
What makes a good postcard
- Use the short name. “Big Sur” reads from across a room; put the county or state in the line under it.
- Pick the view people know: the pier, the bridge, the ridge line.
- For a small town, add what it's known for (a lighthouse, a diner, a lake) so the scene feels right.
- On the back, write on the left and keep the right half for the address and stamp.
- Make a set: one postcard per stop on a road trip, all in the same look.
- Print on matte card stock if you want to write on it with a pen.

Questions
What size is a postcard?
In the US, 4×6 in is the standard, and it mails at the postcard price: USPS allows 3½×5 up to 4¼×6 in, 0.007 to 0.016 in thick. In Europe, A6 (148×105 mm) is common. Idyllic designs at 1800×1200 px, a 6×4 card at 300 ppi.
Is the AI postcard maker free?
You can preview the whole flow free, with real AI writing and sample images. Running it for real is on Plus ($10.50/mo, billed yearly) and up, and uses 27 credits for 3 postcards. The free plan also includes 3 free images a day in the image studio.
Can I mail the postcards I make?
Yes, once they're printed on card stock. Print the 6×4 front, write your message on the left of the back and keep the right half for the address and stamp. In the US, cards bigger than 4¼×6 in mail at letter prices.
What is a “Greetings from” postcard?
A style made famous by large-letter postcards, popular in North America from the 1930s to the 1950s: the name of a place in big, dimensional block letters over a sunny view. Idyllic sets the name in 3D type with “Greetings from” in script above it.
Does it work for any place?
Any city, beach, national park or neighborhood, or a place you made up. For a small town, add what it's known for, like a lighthouse or a lake, so the view feels right.
Can I change the text on the postcard?
Yes. “Greetings from”, the place name and the line under it are all real type in Canvas. Change the words, the font, the 3D depth or its color.
Can I sell the postcards?
Paid plans include a commercial license, so you can sell prints of your town or hand them to guests. Keep other companies' logos and brand names off the card.
