How to make it
Four steps, about a minute of your time. These are real screens from the run above.
- 01
Paste the guest list
Paste your guests into Guest list, one name per line, and add “Table 2” after a name to seat that guest, or set one table for everyone in Table. Cards fills in with the number of guests, up to 12. Pick a look: Romantic floral, Garden greenery, Classic elegant, Gold & glam, Rustic, Watercolor or Modern minimal.

It writes and paints
The AI writer makes one card per guest in list order, splitting off each table, and writes one artwork description for the whole set. Seedream 5 paints a strip of florals, greenery or gold for every card from that same description, then Idyllic sets each name in script with its table below. Preview the flow free first.
- 03
Check the whole set
Every card sits side by side in guest-list order, so you can check each name's spelling and table before you print.
- 04
Fix and download
Open any card in Canvas to fix a spelling, change the font or ink color, or add a meal symbol, then download it as a 1050×750 PNG, or 2100×1500 with the Large export.
Why it beats
a template
One card per guest
Paste a list of names and get one card each, in list order, instead of retyping a template for every seat.
A set that matches
Every card's artwork comes from the same description in your look, so a table of twelve reads as one set.
Names in real script
Each name is set in a script face like Great Vibes, Parisienne or Alex Brush, sized down for long names. Titles like “Dr.” stay as you wrote them.
Tables, per guest or for all
Write “Table 2” after a name to seat that guest, or give one table for everyone. Leave both out for a name-only card.
Spares for late additions
Set Cards higher than your list and the extra cards read “Guest Name”, ready to edit in Canvas for a last-minute plus-one.
Every layer stays editable
Fix a spelling, swap the font for any of 144, change the ink color or move the name. Nothing is baked into the picture.
How to make place cards that work
- Write names the way guests know each other: “Grandma Rose” at a family table, full names at a formal dinner.
- Check every spelling against your RSVPs before you print. It's the one thing every guest reads.
- Escort cards tell guests their table; place cards mark the seat. If you use both, the place card only needs the name.
- Mark meal choices with a small symbol or color so servers know who ordered what.
- Print on heavy card stock and cut with a paper trimmer for straight edges.
- Print a few extras for late plus-ones and spelling fixes on the day.

Questions
How can I create place cards with minimal effort?
Paste the guest list, one name per line, and pick a look. The place cards maker sets the card count to your number of guests and makes one card each, every name in script over matching artwork.
How much does it cost to make place cards?
You can preview the whole flow free, with real AI writing and sample images. Running it for real is on Plus ($10.50/mo, billed yearly) and up, and uses 9 credits a card: 54 for 6 guests, 108 for 12.
What size is a place card?
The most common folded tent card is 3.5×2 in (3.5×4 in before folding); flat cards are usually 3.5×2 or 3.5×2.5 in. Idyllic designs a 3.5×2.5 in card at 1050×750 px, 300 ppi.
How many place cards can I make at once?
Up to 12 a run. For a longer list, run the flow again with the next names and the same look, or open a finished card in Canvas, change the name and download it again for an exact match.
Can I adjust the design of my place cards after generating them?
Yes. Every name and table is real type in Canvas: fix a spelling, change the font or color, add a meal symbol, or move the name.
How do I print folded tent place cards?
Fold 3.5×5 in card stock in half for a 3.5×2.5 in tent and print the design on the front panel at 100%, or print at 80% for the common 3.5×2 in tent. Put the fold at the top and score it first.
What should go on a place card?
The guest's name, written the way they're known at that table, and the table number if guests seat themselves. Some hosts add a small meal symbol for the servers.
Can I make place cards for a dinner party, not a wedding?
Yes. Pick Modern minimal or Rustic for a dinner party or holiday table. The flow works the same for 4 guests or 12.
