Ready-made flow · Elegant 1-3 letter monograms for brands and weddings
AI Monogram Maker
Idyllic's AI monogram maker turns one to three initials into four monogram concepts, each arranged differently: interlocked, stacked, inside a circle, in a crest or framed by a wreath. Pick a lettering style, and Ideogram 4.5 draws only your letters, in your order, in one ink colour or gold foil on plain off-white. Use them on wedding stationery, boutique branding, embroidery and stamps.

How to make it
Four steps, about a minute of your time. These are real screens from the run above.
- 01
Type the initials
Enter one to three letters in the order they should read ('A&L', 'TCM'), add who or what it is for (a wedding, a boutique, a family), then pick a style (Classic serif, Script, Art deco, Modern minimal, Botanical wreath or Royal crest) and how many concepts, up to six.

- 02
Let the studio letter it
The AI writer plans a different arrangement for each concept (interlocked, stacked, inside a circle, in a crest, framed by a wreath) and describes the lettering. Ideogram 4.5 draws only your letters, centred on plain off-white. Preview the plan free first.
- 03
Compare the arrangements
Every monogram lands side by side, each with a line on the lettering and the arrangement, so you can pick the one that suits the invitation or the brand.
- 04
Download or keep going
Open your pick full size and download the PNG. Or keep going: remove the background, upscale it, or put it on a wedding invitation, place card or business card design.
Why it beats
a template
Only your letters
Your letters go to the image model exactly as typed and in that order, with no other words. A&L stays A&L.
Five arrangements
Interlocked, stacked, in a circle, in a crest or inside a wreath. Each concept tries a different one, so you see how your initials work together.
Six lettering styles
Classic serif, script, art deco, modern minimal, botanical wreath or royal crest, from black tie to a garden party.
One ink, or gold
Monograms are drawn in a single ink colour or gold foil, the way they are printed, pressed and stitched.
From the invitation to the napkins
Use one mark on the invitation, save-the-date, program, place cards and thank-you cards to tie the whole wedding together.
A quiet mark for a brand
Boutiques, salons and studios use monograms on tags, bags, stamps and social icons. Square concepts work as a profile picture as they are.
What makes a good monogram
- Mind the order. The classic three-letter monogram for one person is first, last, middle, with the last initial larger in the centre.
- For a couple, a common layout puts the shared last initial in the centre with a first initial on each side, or joins two first initials with an ampersand.
- Let the event pick the style: script for a garden wedding, art deco for a city ballroom, classic serif for black tie.
- Keep it to one colour so it works for foil, letterpress, embroidery and wax seals.
- Check it at the size it will print. On a place card, a monogram may be under an inch wide.
- Say out loud what the letters spell in a row before you order anything engraved.
Monogram sizes and file formats
| Concept from Idyllic | Square PNG, 1:1 | Centred on plain off-white |
|---|---|---|
| Transparent version | PNG with transparency | Run Remove background before placing it on coloured paper or photos |
| Printed stationery | 300 ppi at print size | A 1 in monogram needs 300 px; a 2 in one needs 600 px |
| Foil, letterpress, wax seals | Vector: SVG, EPS or PDF | Most makers ask for vector art; trace the concept or have it redrawn |
| Embroidery | A stitch file | The embroiderer digitizes your artwork; simple strokes stitch cleanest |
Concepts are raster PNGs, sharp enough for screens and small prints. For foil, letterpress, wax seals or embroidery, get a vector version made from the one you choose.

Questions
Is the AI monogram maker free?
You can preview the whole flow free: the AI writer plans real concepts and shows them with sample images. Running it for real is on Plus ($10.50 a month, billed yearly) and uses 60 credits for four monograms. The free plan also includes 3 free images a day in the image studio.
What order should monogram letters go in?
For one person, the traditional three-letter monogram is first initial, last initial, middle initial, with the last initial larger in the centre. Couples often put the shared last initial in the centre with a first initial on each side, or join two first initials with an ampersand. Type the letters in the order you want them to read, and say in the brief if the centre letter should be larger.
Will it add letters I did not ask for?
The flow sends only your letters, in your order, and asks for no other words, so concepts stick to them. Check each one anyway, and run the flow again if a stray mark slips in.
Can I use a monogram for my wedding?
Yes. Couples use one across the invitation, programs, place cards, napkins and signs. Add it to designs from Idyllic's wedding invitation, save-the-date and place card flows in Canvas.
Can I get a vector file for foil or embroidery?
The flow makes raster PNG concepts. Foil and letterpress plates and wax seal dies are usually made from vector art, and embroidery needs the design digitized, so have your chosen monogram traced or redrawn first.
Can I get a transparent background?
Yes. Run Remove background on your pick and download a transparent PNG to place on coloured paper, photos or a website.
Can I use a monogram as my business logo?
Yes. Paid plans include a commercial license. Used for a business, a monogram is still a trademark question, so search existing marks in your market first; that check is up to you.
