Ready-made flow · Bulletin billboards with a six-word headline
AI Billboard Design Maker
Idyllic's AI billboard design maker turns your brand and message into three billboard ideas in the standard 48×14 ft bulletin shape: one bold image with the subject on the right, a headline of six words or fewer, a tagline and your brand, built to read at a glance. Each design tries a different idea, and every word stays editable in Canvas.

How to make it
Four steps, about a minute of your time. These are real screens from the run above.
- 01
Name the brand and the message
Fill in 'Brand or business' and 'What should it say or sell?': the product, the offer, the place or the date. Pick a look (Bold, Premium, Witty, Minimal, Cinematic or Retro) and up to four variations.
Open the flow
- 02
Watch the ideas get made
The AI writer, briefed as an outdoor creative director, gives each board its own idea (a product hero, a big benefit, a witty line or local pride) with a headline of six words or fewer and a short tagline. FLUX 3 makes each image, then Idyllic sets the type. Preview the plan free first.
- 03
Compare the ideas
Every billboard appears side by side, next to its image without type, so you can judge the idea and the picture separately.
- 04
Edit and send
Open one in Canvas to change any word, font or color, then export a PNG. Send the Large export, 4800×1400 px, to the billboard company with any template they give you.
Why it beats
a template
Different ideas, not different photos
Each variation is its own concept with its own headline, so you weigh a product hero against a witty line, not three versions of one picture.
Written for the road
Headlines stay at six words or fewer, the tagline under eight, and claims come only from your brief. A pill can carry a place or date, like 'Now on Market St'.
Composed for a wide board
FLUX 3 places one subject large on the right, inside a central band, and keeps the left side calm and dark so the headline reads in a glance.
The bulletin shape from the start
Designs use the 48×14 ft bulletin proportions, so you judge every idea in the shape it will run in, not as a square that needs reworking.
Edit every layer
Canvas has 144 fonts and text effects. Tighten the headline, add your logo, or select part of the image and describe what should change.
What makes a billboard work
- Six words or fewer. People read a billboard at a glance, often at speed.
- One idea, one image, one brand. Anything more becomes noise.
- Strong contrast between the headline and the background.
- Make the brand easy to find and skip long web addresses.
- Add a direction if it helps people act: 'Exit 12', 'Next right'.
- Shrink the design to thumbnail size on your screen. If it still reads, it will read from the road.

Questions
Can I customize the text on my billboard design?
Yes. The headline, tagline, pill and brand are all real type in Canvas. Click any of them to rewrite it, change the font or color, or move it.
Is the billboard design maker free?
You can preview the whole flow free: real AI copy with sample images, so you can check the plan. Running it for real is on Plus ($10.50 a month, billed yearly) and uses 36 credits for three designs. The free plan also includes 3 free images a day in the image studio.
What size is a billboard?
The standard bulletin is 14×48 ft, and other common bulletins are 10×40 ft and 10 ft 6 in×36 ft. Idyllic designs in the 48×14 ft shape at 2400×700 px, with a Large export of 4800×1400 px.
What image resolution should I choose for my billboard?
Printed boards are made from scaled artwork, often 1/4 or 1/2 in to the foot at 300 dpi, not a full-size file. The Large export, 4800×1400 px, is 400 ppi at 1/4 in scale. Digital boards want their exact pixel size, often 1400×400. Always confirm with the operator.
How long does it take to create a billboard design?
About a minute for three ideas. Most of your time goes into choosing the idea and fine-tuning the headline in Canvas.
How many words should a billboard have?
As few as possible. A common outdoor rule is seven words or fewer; Idyllic keeps headlines to six, plus a short tagline and your brand.
Can I use the same design on a digital billboard?
Yes. The 48×14 shape is close to the common 1400×400 px digital bulletin. Ask the operator for the exact pixel size and file type, then resize the PNG to match.
