How to make it

Four steps, about a minute of your time. These are real screens from the run above.

  1. 01

    Say what it is for

Write 'What is the banner for?': the event, opening or offer, with the date. Add your 'Business or website' if it should be on the banner, then pick a look (Bold, Clean, Festive, Elegant, Retro or Neon) and up to four variations.

  2. 02

    Watch it get designed

The AI writer writes a 2-5 word headline, one supporting line and a pill for the date or offer, using only your brief. Seedream 5 makes a different wide picture for each banner with the subject on the right, then Idyllic sets the type. Preview the plan free first.

Why it beats
a template

01

Readable from across the street

A short headline, one supporting line and a pill, set big on the calm side of the picture with a dark fade behind them, so they read on any background.

02

Text kept off the edges

Type sits inside a margin around the banner, clear of the hems and grommets a print shop adds.

03

A picture made for a wide format

Seedream 5 makes each picture with one clear subject on the right third, inside a central band, and leaves the left side simple for your words.

04

Copy from your brief only

The headline, date and offer come from what you wrote. The writer never adds a discount, a date or a promise you did not give.

05

Edit every layer

Canvas has 144 fonts, text effects and shapes. Upload your logo, place a photo of your shop over the picture, or select part of the image and describe a change.

What makes a banner work

  • Five words or fewer in the headline. People read banners in passing.
  • Make the date or the offer the second-biggest thing on it.
  • Order a 3:1 size, like 2×6 or 3×9 ft, so the design fits without cropping.
  • Keep text about 2 in inside the edge, clear of hems and grommets.
  • Give one website or phone number, short enough to remember.
  • Check it from across the room on your screen before you send it to print.

Questions

How do I create a custom banner?

Describe what it is for in one line, with the date or offer, add your business or website, pick a look and run the flow. You get three finished banners; open one in Canvas to adjust it and download a PNG.

Is the custom banner generator free?

You can preview the whole flow free: real AI copy with sample images, so you can check the plan. Running it for real is on Plus ($10.50 a month, billed yearly) and uses 27 credits for three banners. The free plan also includes 3 free images a day in the image studio.

What size should my banner be?

Idyllic banners are 3:1, the shape of 2×6, 3×9 and 4×12 ft banners. The popular 3×6 and 4×8 ft sizes are 2:1, so they would need a taller design. For a storefront or a 6 ft table, 2×6 ft is a good fit.

What image resolutions are available?

Standard is 2400×800 px, for websites and screens. Large is 4800×1600 px, for print: 100 ppi at 48×16 in, about 67 ppi at 6×2 ft. Ask your print shop what they need for bigger sizes.

Can I use my own images for banner creation?

The flow makes the picture for you. In Canvas you can upload your own photo or logo as a new layer, remove its background there, and place it over or instead of the generated picture.

Can I print the banner on vinyl?

Yes. Download the Large PNG and send it to your print shop. They add hems and grommets; the layout already keeps text away from the edges.

Can I use the banner online too?

Yes. The 3:1 shape also works as a website header or an event page banner. Paid plans include a commercial license.
