Jersey Design: AI Uniform Maker
Idyllic's jersey design tool turns your team name, sport and colors into photoreal kit concepts, front and back side by side. Each design tries a different pattern (stripes, a sash, a gradient, side panels), and if you add a name and number, FLUX 3 prints them on the back. Use the shots to agree on a look before your kit maker prepares production files.

How to make it
Four steps, about a minute of your time. These are real screens from the run above.
- 01
Enter the team
Fill in the team or club, like Bay City Hornets, and pick the sport. Add team colours and a name and number for the back if you want them, like RIVERA 10, then set how many designs you want, up to four.

- 02
Watch the kits get designed
The AI writer gives each jersey a different pattern (stripes, a sash, a gradient, panels or a sleeve detail) and a short kit name. FLUX 3 shoots each one front and back on an invisible mannequin, with your lettering on the back. Preview the plan free.
- 03
Line up the kits
Every design appears side by side with its kit name, like 'Home kit: gold sash', so the team can vote on a favorite.
- 04
Download or keep going
Open one full size and download it. Or keep going: select the collar, a sleeve or the trim in Canvas and describe a change, or run it again with your away colors.
Why it beats
a template
Front and back in one shot
Every design is a single 16:9 product photo with the front and back side by side, so you see the crest side and the number side together.
Your name and number on the back
Add a name and number like RIVERA 10 and it is printed on the back, name above a big number, with a small number on the front. Leave it empty for a clean kit.
Different patterns, same colors
One run tries several directions in your team colors: classic stripes, a bold sash, a gradient, side panels, a sleeve detail. No colors yet? The writer picks ones that suit the team name.
Eight sports
Soccer, basketball, American football, hockey, baseball, rugby, volleyball and esports, with the collar, sleeves and fabric described for the sport you pick.
A concept to agree on
Use the shots to get the team, the coach or a sponsor on board. Your kit maker then builds production files from the design you pick.
Change one detail
In Canvas, select the collar, a sleeve or the trim and describe the change, without redrawing the whole kit.
How to make a jersey look professional
- Pick two main colors and one accent. More than that looks busy from the stands.
- Make the number the loudest thing on the back. Officials and fans read it from far away.
- Give numbers a contrasting color or a border so they read on stripes and patterns.
- Keep patterns on the body and plain areas where the name and number go.
- Check your league's rules on number size and colors before you order.
- Order one sample in a real size before the full team order.
Jersey number sizes by league
| Idyllic jersey shot | 16:9 product photo | Front and back side by side; a concept, not a production file |
|---|---|---|
| Soccer, FIFA competitions | Back number 25–35 cm | Front number 10–15 cm; name 5–7.5 cm tall above the back number |
| Basketball, US high school (NFHS) | Back number at least 6 in | Front number at least 4 in, plain Arabic numerals |
| American football, US high school (NFHS) | Back number at least 10 in | Front number at least 8 in, strokes about 1.5 in wide |
Rules differ by league and level; FIFA allows back numbers from 20 cm on women's shirts. Check your league's uniform rules and your kit maker's template before you order.

Questions
Is the jersey design maker free?
You can preview the whole flow free: real AI writing with sample images, so you can check the plan. Running it for real is on Plus ($10.50 a month, billed yearly) and uses 36 credits for three designs. The free plan also includes 3 free images a day in the image studio.
What should I include in a jersey design prompt?
The team name, the sport and your colors, plus a name and number if you want them on the back. One sentence covers it, like 'Apex FC soccer jersey in navy and electric green, number 9'.
Can it add team names and numbers?
Yes. Add a name and number, like RIVERA 10, and FLUX 3 prints it on the back with a small number on the front. AI lettering can slip, so check the spelling before you share it. Leave the field empty for a kit with no lettering.
Can I see the front and back together?
Yes. Every design is one 16:9 product shot with the front and back side by side on an invisible mannequin.
Can I add our team logo?
The flow puts a simple abstract crest where the badge goes, so it never invents a fake version of yours. Your kit maker places your real logo file on the production artwork.
Is the mockup ready for printing?
No. It is a photoreal concept for agreeing on a look. Kit makers build production files on their own templates for each size, so send them the design you pick with your logo and lettering.
What size should jersey numbers be?
It depends on the league. In FIFA competitions, back numbers are 25 to 35 cm tall and front numbers 10 to 15 cm. US high school basketball (NFHS) asks for at least 6 inches on the back and 4 on the front. Check your league's rules.
